Bricked In

I'm going to brick in the once existing entrance to my building. These are some different possibilities for bricked-in windows.

Seeing Exercise

I went out seeking influence for broken, old, left-over buildings. I probably would have never noticed this part before, if I had not had a specific agenda in mind. This particular piece is very interesting. It shows many qualities that are unnoticed at first glance. The reality: there are remnants of a pre-existing floors, walkway, air-ducts, roofs, framing, textures, materials, entrances, stairs, stairwell and different colors. But in theory: How did that graffiti get there? Was it there before or after the missing floor? Where do those doors go? And if it was once important to enter/exit them....then why is not important anymore? Why is only part of the building missing? Why not the whole piece? On the west side of the building...why are the windows on the lower level bricked in and the top level they are not?
I’m sure there are answers for each of these, but I wonder if they were accidental or purposeful, and did these destructions happen at the same time or gradually throughout time?

ARTIFACT - the end

I created this artifact from salvaged pieces found near our site, my artifact ended up being connected view pieces. They all work each on their own, as well as connected together as one.

This view piece views the world upside down.

This one views the world framed, and also has a 360 degree rotating axis.

This one views the world a little distorted and a little bit magnified, and can actually shutter down to almost to complete darkness.

Model interation

Here is a rip 'n tear model iteration of my thoughts.

Tipped, collapsed, sunken, abandoned

I'm going to run with the idea of a building that has sunken and tipped over time. And rather than completely demolish it, why not use whats left and transform it into a working space. I want to make it as realistic as possible. Here are some good REAL examples.

My passionate goal it to stay away from hokey, fake and cartoony. Here are some examples I want to AVOID.---sorry Frank

Underground Tunnel

I saw this the other day and liked the possibility of designing an underground tunnel for the site. It gives the sense of exploring.
