I went out seeking influence for broken, old, left-over buildings. I probably would have never noticed this part before, if I had not had a specific agenda in mind. This particular piece is very interesting. It shows many qualities that are unnoticed at first glance. The reality: there are remnants of a pre-existing floors, walkway, air-ducts, roofs, framing, textures, materials, entrances, stairs, stairwell and different colors. But in theory: How did that graffiti get there? Was it there before or after the missing floor? Where do those doors go? And if it was once important to enter/exit them....then why is not important anymore? Why is only part of the building missing? Why not the whole piece? On the west side of the building...why are the windows on the lower level bricked in and the top level they are not?
I’m sure there are answers for each of these, but I wonder if they were accidental or purposeful, and did these destructions happen at the same time or gradually throughout time?
I created this artifact from salvaged pieces found near our site, my artifact ended up being connected view pieces. They all work each on their own, as well as connected together as one.
